CHARLESTON COUNTY LAUNCHES CITIBOT

CITIBOT NEWS

We are thrilled to announce that Charleston County is the FIRST county in the nation to launch Citibot technology!

With a simple text message, residents can now report a problem, ask a question or send a message to Charleston County -- and Citibot will respond in real time, anytime. From potholes to recycling, our chatbot technology will provide an answer quickly, getting to the heart of any question or issue stat.

Charleston County residents can start the conversation by texting “hello” to (843) 800-4121 and Citibot will respond to initiate the conversation. For example, if a resident needs a new recycling bin, they can simply text “how do I request a recycling bin?” and Citibot help push their query into Charleston County’s management system. Residents can also crowdsource issues like potholes, mosquito control and much more.

“We are proud to be the first county in the country to deploy this easy-to-use technology that makes us much more accessible to our citizens,” says Charleston County Administrator Jennifer Miller.

Now that Charleston County is more available to its residents than ever before, we’re excited to watch its citizen engagement rise.

Cheers, Charleston County! You’re the true innovators.
