Our passion is developing creative and effective solutions with local governments to engage and better serve their residents. When the Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD) let us know they won the Silver Anvil Award from the New Orleans Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) chapter for its use of excellent social media communications strategy for “JAZZ” AI Chatbot Launch, a branding, awareness, and behavioral change campaign promoting our AI-powered web and text chat solutions, we could not have been more thrilled!

The Silver Anvil has been one of PRSA’s most coveted and sought-after awards since it was first presented in 1944 and is granted to organizations that showcase their unique skills, creativity, and resources while undertaking and solving problems or meeting unmet needs. Each entrant is evaluated based on initiatives that utilize insights and analysis, planning, execution, and evaluation.

OPCD dubbed their Citibot AI solution “JAZZ” and we were elated they wanted to showcase New Orleans’ unique culture and history utilizing our chatbot and text solutions. Often, governments are not encouraged to be creative with branding and resident-facing programs, so this was a great opportunity to let the OPCD team’s creativity and dedication to the city shine through. Our team worked closely with OPCD’s Public Engagement Team to develop a specialized marketing campaign that was shared across OPCD and NOLA-311 websites and social channels to coincide with launching JAZZ. The goal was to show residents and visitors alike how JAZZ would allow them to instantly and easily connect with the city for information and services.

OPCD utilizes Citibot’s text and web chat to connect with individuals, answer their questions, route service requests, and more. Since implementing Citibot’s customized products, communication toolkit, and marketing plan, OPCD has received an average of 1,900 communications per month from New Orleans residents, visitors, and businesses. These messages have improved OCPD’s efficiency and service delivery across the city.

With their strong mission statement, “Getting the right people to the right place at the right time, better than anyone else in the world,” we feel the Silver Anvil award was made specifically for OPCD. Their constant dedication to residents, visitors, and local businesses combined with their passion for implementing the latest technology really showcases their love of the city and the people in it. We are so glad their hard work has not gone unnoticed.

OPCD sought out Citibot’s services when NOLA-311 — the city’s non-emergency communications department — expanded its services to support residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. OPCD determined Citibot’s AI-powered chatbot would provide quality communications solutions for their residents to receive services while simultaneously reducing the call volume to NOLA-311.

Citibot’s AI solutions were implemented in OPCD’s communication plans in 2020 and were designed to help increase citizen engagement and to assist the department in better serving its residents. By simplifying communication between residents and local governments, Citibot’s mission is to build trust between governments and residents with chat communications on accessible platforms.

Our team is honored to work with the passionate, hardworking, and award-winning OPCD team and look forward to another year together.
