This month Citibot hit Hollywood Beach, Florida to attend the Florida League of Cities Annual Conference. We made some great new connections, collected valuable insights, and had fun exploring the city!

We always enjoy meeting new people who are passionate about helping their local communities. It was enlightening to spend time with several Florida city leaders and learn more about the issues that are most important to them.

The hot topic at this year’s conference was Home Rule, a provision that grants local governments the power to act unless otherwise directed by law. We learned that Florida cities are at risk of losing their power to make certain decisions to federal and state government, which could have negative effects on residents.

We believe that positive change in communities is the result of an open and trusting relationship between local governments and citizens. We 100% stand behind Home Rule and support keeping local government involved and impactful.

We also debuted our new Citibot fans! These were the perfect solution for the warm summer weather and a fun way to share the Citibot brand with our friends in Florida.

It’s conferences and conversations like these that remind us why we strongly believe in what we do at Citibot to connect citizens and local leaders. It’s critical that we keep government local and close to issues that directly impact residents.
